McDonald brace sees off young Guns

Two goals from midfielder Kevin McDonald saw Burnley claim a place in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup with a shock win over Arsene Wenger's young Arsenal side at Turf Moor.

The 20-year-old Scot scored in the sixth and 57th minutes to stun an inexperienced Gunners line-up while home goalkeeper Brian Jensen made a string of fine saves.

McDonald made the breakthrough with a cool finish then reacted quickly after a Chris Eagles throw-in to seal a famous victory for the Coca-Cola Championship side.
