Ronaldo sees red in derby win

Wayne Rooney's 100th goal in club football earned 10-man United a 1-0 Manchester derby win after Cristiano Ronaldo had been sent off against City.

Rooney tapped home three minutes before the break after Joe Hart had failed to hold Michael Carrick's angled drive to give the visitors a deserved lead.

But the Red Devils were forced to guide their way to victory without Ronaldo, who was needlessly dismissed midway through the second period when he collected a second caution for deliberate handball.
