Rugby League Quins face Oz champs

Harlequins Rugby League will take on Australian NRL champions Manly Sea Eagles next year.

The Eagles will touch down at The Twickenham Stoop on February 19 for a warm-up game ahead of their World Club Challenge match against Leeds Rhinos on March 1. It will be first-ever meeting between the two clubs.

Quins boss Brian McDermott said: "Playing Manly in a warm up gives the club a chance to challenge themselves against the best team from Australia.

"The players are excited about this, as I'm sure will be our fans. It promises to be a great start to our campaign."

Quins skipper Rob Purdham is currently out in Australia with England's World Cup squad, but is yet to feature. * QUINS are holding reserve team trials for potential rugby league stars on Sunday, November 23, at Roehampton Vale.

The trials are open to all player aged between 18-21. Anyone interested in attending should email: philj@quinsrl.co.uk
