Matt finish to power of four

Skipper Matt Nemeth led by example with four tries as Grasshoppers won 47-7 in London Nigerians in London Three NW on Saturday.

Gs made the short journey to Acton knowing they had never beaten Nigerians but soon stated their intentions, with two tries from Nemeth, plus five points from the boot of Gerwyn Hughes, giving them a 15-0 half-time lead.

Hughes added a second penalty after the break before converting a try from Andrew Christie which, at 25-0, made the game safe.

Nemeth then took over proceedings again, scoring two more tries - both converted by Hughes - before Gs let in Nigerians for a consolation.

But there was still time left for Wayne Corden to bag a sixth try for Gs, which Hughes converted before kicking a final penalty to take his personal tally to 19.

Gs sit third, while in London Four NW, Chiswick continue to impress with a 21-8 win over Haringey Rhinos and are second.

In London Two North, are also flying high in second after winning 18-5 at Ruislip.

Leonard Liebenberg and Jon Turner scored their tries, while Chris Wells kicked eight points.
