BOWLS Ash leave 'em with eg on their faces

Ashford resisted a spirited comeback by Egham to win their mixed match by 19 shots on Saturday.

Ashford led by 27 at the half-way stage, and although their opponents began to get the shots back, they went on to triumph 129-110 and four rinks to two.

C Daines, A Blair,I Ford and L Reason were on fine form with a 24-12 rink win.

Earlier in the week, Ashford's men had beaten Staines convincingly 78-44, while the ladies went down 62-51 to Cambridge Park.

T Stroude,N Greed and B Duckworth were the top scorers for the men with a 25-4 rink win, while M Fullicks, M Gammon and M Bushnell did the honours 23-14 for the ladies, but ultimately in vain.
