House face the drop

SKkipper James Rodham admits relegation is looming large for Wycombe House, despite the best efforts of Salman Choudhary.

The Osterley-based outfit are now 13 points adrift at the bottom of Middlesex County Cricket League Division Three following a crushing defeat to Highgate on Saturday.

Highgate raced to 70 off 10 overs before Choudhary bowled the best spell by any House bowler for many years to take 6-52 and give his side a chance.

He left Highgate reeling on 138-8, but their tail-enders dug in, allowing them to declare on 247-9.

However, House's batting reply was awful, and the game was effectively over after 10 overs, at which point they were 36-5.

Moshin Shah (36) and Moshin Tirmizi (28) tried their best, but House were bowled out for 119.

Rodham said: "We must now win our last two games, while hoping other results go our way, to avoid the drop."
