Everything's crossed at Osterley
Fingers, toes and anything else available are being crossed by Osterley as they close in on a fourth successive Middlesex Championship title.
They have been denied promotion to the Middlesex County League for the last three years for various reasons,and moved back to the area from exile in Iver in an attempt to get the green light.
But chairman Shaheen Rizvi reckons that, after Saturday's six-wicket win over Turnham Green put them 18 points clear,all the boxes have been ticked this time.
He added: "We now have everything they asked for in place, including five Saturday sides and four Colts sides.
"But you never know, they may decide our wicket is not good enough, or the lease is not long enough."
Osterley bowled out Turnham Green for 210 before making 212-4 to move well clear of second-placed
Edmonton, who they face on the final day in two weeks time.
