Simon Moore
ANDY Scott wants to get Simon Moore out on loan for the whole season – ideally to a League Two club – after landing Reading keeper Alex McCarthy on loan.
The youngster, who signed for Brentford last summer, had only played about half an hour of first team football before this season.
But following some impressive pre-season displays, he leapfrogged new signing Richard Lee in the line for the number one jersey, and started against Carlisle and Cheltenham.
However, with McCarthy’s arrival, Bees boss Scott wants the Reading loanee fighting it out with Lee to be his first choice.
He said: “I have spoken to Simon and I want to get him out on loan for the season, he needs a whole year of first team football.
“We’re trying to find him a club at the moment. A lot of teams are only operating with one keeper, so we may have to wait for an injury somewhere.
“We are looking to get him out to perhaps a League Two club, or at least a Conference side.”
