Bees skipper backs penalty king Charlie MacDonald

Kevin O'Connor

KEVIN O'Connor is happy for Charlie MacDonald to carry on taking penalties if it means Brentford keep winning.

MacDonald has taken over spot-kick duties following his skipper's miss against Southampton last month, and scored twice from 12 yards to help sink Gillingham on Saturday.

O'Connor said: "I'm happy for Chaz to take them. He's a goalscorer and it'll give him confidence. As long as we win it doesn't matter who scores.

"We had a shaky start, but once we scored confidence went up. We got a bit of luck but we took advantage of it."
