Sammy Moore
AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Macclesfield Town
SAMMY Moore bagged a late winner as AFC Wimbledon chalked up their third win on the spin against Macclesfield.
The former Ipswich youngster landed the decisive blow in the dying minutes to clinch the points at Kingsmeadow after Billy Knott had cancelled out Dawayne Mattice's opener.
The Dons dominated the opening stages, with Luke Moore firing over and Jack Midson being denied by Jose Veiga in the Macclesfield goal.
Sammy Moore flashed an effort wide, while Midson missed the target after being picked out by Sam Hatton.
The hosts almost fell behind straight after the break when George Donnelly's effort was spilled by Seb Brown before stand-in skipper Gareth Gwillim headed the ball to safety.
But they weren't so lucky next time around when the Dons defence failed to clear their lines, and Mattice latched onto Shaun Brisley's header forward before steering his shot past Brown.
However, they were back on terms inside two minutes. Knott picked the ball up 30 yards out before unleashing an unstoppable left-footed drive into the top corner to give Veiga no chance.
Terry Brown threw on Christian Jolley and Brendan Kiernan as they searched for a winner.
And they found it three minutes from time when Sammy Moore exchanged passes with Midson before clipping the ball over Veiga to clinch the points.
DONS: Brown, Hatton, McNaughton, Mitchel-King, Gwillim, S Moore, Moncur (Yussuff 39), Knott, L Moore (Kiernan 86), Midson, Harrison (Jolley 70).
Subs (not used): Turner, Stuart.
