ANDY Scott hailed Brentford’s 1-0 win over Colchester last night as one of the best performance since he took over as manager two years ago.
Charlie MacDonald's first-half header proved the difference at Griffin Park, as the Bees chalked up their first win in five League One games.
While there have been more pleasing performances on the eye, for sheer effort and spirit, against a side chasing promotion, it was definitely up there.
It also moved the Bees five points clear of the League One drop zone ahead of a tough run of games over Christmas, and signalled a return to form.
Scott said: "In the first-half, that was as well as we have played since I’ve been in charge.
"Colchester are a big and powerful side, but we didn’t let them have it. When we had the ball we kept it well.
"Obviously it changed a bit in the second-half as they pushed forward and we got a bit nervy and tired, but we regained our composure and kept the ball again.
"I’m proud of how we bounced back from Wycombe, two wins and two clean sheets is a massive boost to everyone. We are starting to click into what we want to do."
