The battle to save Watermans

In December 2007 the Arts Council announced it was to scrap nearly £500,000 of funding for the Watermans arts centre in Brentford High Street. The move sent shock waves through the community and thousands of signatures have already been collected on a petition to save the centre. Now bosses are taking the fight to the courts, buoyed up by backing from big names performers, local supporters and the Hounslow Chronicle.
