The Old Firestation is a cocktail jewel among Brentford's many traditional pubs.

Owner Rod Eslamiech fell in love with the old fire station building in 2003 and soon turned it into an award-winning bar and restaurant.

"I was working really long hours in PR so I thought I may as well be working for myself, and it's turned out great," he said.

"In 2006 we won best bar team in the UK. Our staff have in-depth knowledge of cocktails and we have the girl band W4, who were on The X-Factor, working behind the bar."

The bar also has a restaurant which serves modern British cuisine such as, vodka martini mussels. On a Sunday it has 'Movies & Smoothies', when you can chill out and watch a film while eating a hearty roast.

The Old Firestation features an outdoor area with plenty of seating and a chill-out area.

"We have had loads of celebrities in, such as Ant and Dec, and people travel from all over London to visit us. We really are a hidden gem," said Rod.

If you are looking for a traditional pub with a snooker table and sticky carpet, then this isn't the place for you (the bar only has one beer on tap).

But if you are looking for something a little more sophisticated, then this is just the place.

The Old Firestation is holding a 'prohibition' night in August, where cocktails will be served in tea cups.
